Anti-Spellcaster AquaCaster
Deck Description
Making bad decks because I'm bored (also apparently one of the Go Rush characters is going to use Aquas so I thought it was a good time to revisit the deck)
We're tackling Aqua this time, a typing with an assortment of support thrown into several different directions. Here we care mostly about one of these, the Anti Spellcaster support, as the name of the deck implies. Reason being that this is the most explosive play Aqua can feasibly make, second best being trying to use Triple Threat Thunder, which is nowhere near good enough with the power level of the current decks. The main goal we are trying to achieve is to activate the full effect of Last Day of the Pretty?Witch, which at minimum is effectively bad Tribute to the Doomed, allowing you to discard an Aqua monster from hand if you control a Level 8 or Higher Aqua monster to then destroy a face-up Level 8 or lower monster on your opponent's field. The real spicy part is the rest of the effect, which destroys the rest of your opponent's face-up monsters if the first monster you destroy by the effect is a Spellcaster monster. Now, you may be asking "What happens if you're not playing against Spellcasters?". In that case you normally will have to settle for a bad Tribute to the Doomed, not a particularly high quality card for a deck to be using, especially with how low power the rest of the deck is.
However, we are so desperate to do cool things with this deck (the one cool thing the deck can do) that we are playing an enabler in Type Change Beam, which, as it says on the tin, changes types. Specifically it changes up to 3 monsters into the same type as one you reveal in your hand. In order to enable the Type Change Beam we will have to play some Spellcaster monsters (we were probably going to regardless, 3 Mirror Force really helps out this slow strategy). The Spellcasters we've chosen are the consistency pieces in 3 Amazing Dealer and 3 Mystic Dealer, graveyard hate in 3 Wording Fairy which also acts as a way to recycle some of our monsters like the Dian Ketos and what not, 2 Sevens Road Mage to help out 2.5k beatsticks beat over other higher base stat beatsticks, and 3 Sevens Road Enchanter as an alternative payoff to Type Change Beam, allowing you to turn copies of Type Change Beam into a singular bounce.
As for our high-level monsters, 3 of each Dian Keto, namely Dian Keto the Boogie Master and Dian Keto the Security Master, for more consistent access to Last Day. Both aren't particularly great, Security Master was used as an old option in Hand Control and Stall at the very least. Neither of these are cards I'd choose to play if it weren't for the fact that these are literally the only Level 8 or higher Aqua monsters in the game as of writing. A cool thing Security Master can do is discard the monster bounced to hand after a Enchanter + Type Change Beam combo. 1 Wicked Shadow Dark Lurker to clean out backrow and be a way to apply pressure without swinging directly, whether you are on the backfoot or are ahead in tempo.
Because we also need to discard Aquas off of Last Day, we are running a Seahorse Carrier package, including 3 of the Seahorse and 3 of its 2 best targets, Kanan the Sword Diva and LaMoon the Party Princess. I'd maybe consider other more utility based options but there literally are no other good Aqua monsters and Seahorse Carrier giving a +1 in card advantage means an easier time triggering Last Day anyway.
3 Last Day 3 Type Change Beam because they're the main point of the deck, 1 Monster Reborn in order to help set up Last Day easier by special summoning either Dian Keto. 3 Dark Revelation as an insane trap, many other options such as Crisis at the Sacred Tower or Hardefense Mission are viable picks alongside Dark Revelation as well.
While this is not a particularly strong deck, the popoff is certainly funny and worth the pain of losing with the deck (to me at least). And if you play against one of the random players playing with the new spellcaster support you can punish them without Type Change Beam (granted at that point they become bricks). Thank you for reading, and hope this ailing monster type gets the support it needs.
